Plants vs. Zombies Plush: Monkey Business is the twelfth episode of the second season and the thirty-second overall of Plants vs. Zombies Plush. It aired on July 6, 2016.

Synopsis[]

A new team has been established in this video; a team established by the zombies. Not only this, but new plans have also been established by said zombies in the fog stage.

Plot[]

At the Zombies' HQ, Head Zombie questions Super Brainz that if he really is that powerful and smart, he has to ask him what's 144 divided by 6. While Super Brainz goes to get his calculator, Duckweed interrupts by singing a musical number from the Donkey Kong Country TV series, much to Coney and the others' annoyances. Duckweed tries to find someone else who understands his love to the show, but everyone (except Ed who kept on saying Donkey Kong over and over again) shows little interest in him and his shenanigans, especially Bolbi, who couldn't talk normally like he usually does. Head Zombie found Bolbi to be too annoying, so they made him shut up for a few days, much to Duckweed's dismay. But thanks to Duckweed's mentioning of Donkey Kong, everyone seems to be in the mood for him, so much so that Super Brainz went out to go get Donkey Kong.

All of the sudden, more and more EEE's began to sprout out from the factory, much to Coney's shock, as he figured they already had enough EEE's already, though Head Zombie explains that they are well produced. A meeting is then called in by Dr. Zomboss as he explains the new plan for the zombies. It turns out that Dr. Zomboss already has Donkey Kong as he is essential to the next plan. While Head Zombie questions why, Zomboss then explains that the zombies get the day off as Donkey Kong and the EEE's will do most of the fighting today on the plants, specifically the Garden Ops. Coney feels skeptical about Dr. Zomboss giving the zombies a free day off after all that fighting, as his "gift" to his fellow minions. While Coney tells this suspicion to the rest of the crew, Dr. Zomboss then puts Coney in the "Bucket of Shame" as punishment. While Zomboss explains the plan, the zombies recall their unfortunate encounters with plants outside of the Garden Ops, which at that point Head Zombie points out that for being so smart, he couldn't figure out why he didn't see the flaws. As usual, Zomboss then yells at Head Zombie for being in so much trouble, but then he then takes Head Zombie with him, and he was never seen again. Newspaper then agrees with Coney, noticing the skepticism as well that Donkey Kong has to fight the plants all on his own with the EEE's as the backup soldiers. However, most of the other zombies are happy with their day off and follow Zomboss to watch the event unfold on his monitor. Duckweed is happy that Zomboss remembered his birthday, leading Coney to throw a bucket at him.

Later that day, Coney is called by a "mysterious voice" to follow him, and he obeys. He finds the voice is Newspaper, gathered with Arnold, Jocky, Super Brainz, Bolbi, & Disco. Newspaper admits that Coney was right in his earlier suspicions, since Zomboss normally hates the EEEs and that he believes Zomboss plans to replace them with the mini-zombies. This causes Coney to yell "oh my Gooooood!" until Bolbi arrives and slaps him, with Coney thanking him, since he needed that. Coney suggests that Zomboss might just be trying to get rid of the imps, but Newspaper feels otherwise and reveals he created the "Zombie Ops." He introduces the members one by one, starting with Bolbi (who surprises Coney when he finds he can talk, with Bolbi revealing he didn't so Zomboss couldn't "profit" from him) and their respective roles in the group. Coney asks what he is, and is happy to learn he is the engineer, then asks about Pete, with Newspaper saying he would be away for awhile. Pete is then shown repeating "my name is Pete and you'll do what I say" before a ball hits him. Newspaper then responds they will work together as the Zombie Ops until the "EEE problem" is dealt with, and all give their motto of "for the brains," with Jocky then asking to get out of the dogpile cause "it feels super weird" (though Arnold suggests they are playing the game Twister). From nearby, Zomboss sees this and applauds them for creating the team, then offers them their first mission- taking care of all plants not affiliated with the Garden Ops. Jocky chides Newspaper as a result, but he admits they're being acknowledged now, with Coney adding that "acknowledgement is power" ("I always though math was power"- Super Brainz). As they head off, Zomboss pulls Arnold & Little Munchkin aside and offers to tell him a secret (which Arnold thinks is the formula to the Krabby Patty from SpongeBob SquarePants). Instead, Zomboss tells Arnold he is giving DK a flower to "troll that Peashooter" but Arnold doesn't really care, preferring to have the formula instead (leading Zomboss to lament he should've told Newspaper instead).

Back with the other zombies, Hambone & Lobber are celebrating their day off with the latter wanting to go blow some up people. Buckethead replies that it is Zomboss' orders and he'd rather stay put, with Pirate noting they rarely ever get a day off, with Guitar Guy agreeing. Lobber then talks to Duckweed, noting the absence of Head Zombie, but he thinks he is using the potty; however, Lobber reminds him he has not come back since. He believes he is locked up and suggests they look for him, with Duckweed pointing out Zomboss told them to stay and it his was his birthday, with Lobber refuting both points. Duckweed is more upset that Zomboss lied about it being his birthday, but Lobber explains it's just an expression meaning "oh, hre you go."

Later that night, the Zombie Ops arrive at the pool, and Bolbi notes the lack of any Garden Ops (save Paco) and sees a mysterious pirate zombie held prisoner by Marigold. Newspaper contacts them via radio (with Coney initially using a CB-radio style handle until Newspaper tells him to use his actual name) and asks for reports from all of them. Seeing only two weeds and Wall-nut, Newspaper & Jocky decide to go, but he goes earlier than 3, to Newspaper's frustration. Jocky manages to take out Apple Bomb, but is confronted by Hypno Shroom and asks for aid (while Newspaper is busy eating Wall-nut); however, Bolbi shows up in a machine to save him. Disco then cues (minor) fog, and Super Brainz uses it to sneak in, taking out Gatling Pea & Lily Pad (and chastising them for not putting the latter in the water). Arnold is in next and confronts Squash, but is squashed by him. Newspaper then orders Coney to take out Dolan, and Coney manages to get control of him and uses a cob to blow up Laser Bean (to the delight of Super Brainz). Marigold tries to make a break for it, but is confronted by Disco and thrown aside. Super Brainz then fires lasers at Lightning Reed, wearing Pumpkin, who asks Rodger for help, but he refuses and Super Brainz flies them both out. Finally, Bolbi uses his machine to take down Mr. Coconut, and Arnold celebrates the win, with Super Brainz saying the best part was "Super Bean" being vanquished. From inside Dolan, Coney comments that it feels weird, "like sitting in a tub of butter," and then repeatedly calls Newspaper's name before replying "don't talk to me like that!" Zomboss, from afar, congratulates them on their work and says the plants won't be able to defeat them after this. Disco meets the captured zombie, who introduces himself as Captain Bubblebeard, causing laughter from the others. Little Munchkin wonders if he hunts for bubbles, but he claims those are "fighting words" and explains he hunts for bubblegum instead. When asked why, he offers to show them and is given some Super Brainz style gum, then show off his skills on Apple Bomb. Newspaper is impressed and says they could use him on the team, while Coney says that nothing bad happened. Just then, Paco wakes up, and, seeing the zombies, sounds the alarm on them.

The plants attack the zombies, while Donkey Kong makes his appearance, and they flee. Super Brainz attempts to flee, but crashes into something, while Coney asks for appropriate running music. Meanwhile, Arnold fights off Snow Pea & Chomper and sends Little Munchkin after the latter, but Chomper simply eats him sending Arnold after him. Jocky is being assaulted by Snow Pea, but Bubblebeard manages to take her out with his sniping skills. Disco then battles Kernel-pult, who spins to escape, but crashes into Donkey Kong, causing him to "expand dong" and beat up the plant. Next, Sunny attempts healing, but Coney jumps and attacks her and Bolbi runs over her in his vehicle. Fume Shroom faces off with Newspaper, but is defeated, while Peashooter attacks Super Brainz, and defeats him with a "Super Pea Wave." Next, groups of EEEs attack Audrey, Kernel-pult & Paco, while Arnold knocks aside Chomper. The EEEs then knock Paco off a ledge and devour her, but Audrey manages to eat the ones around her, with Coney then retreating on Bolbi's vehicle. Next, Peashooter heals Fume Shroom, while Dolan blows up Disco and the two of them take out Jocky. Then Coney and Bolbi's vehicle is hit by an energy blast, fired by a plant named Citron, who also takes out Bolbi with said blast, causing Coney to mourn him. Peashooter comments on the fog, before shooting at Newspaper, but is knocked aside by Bubblebeard in retaliation for locking him up. Fume Shroom chastises Peashooter for doing so, but he claims he did not, and Bubblebeard is shocked to find he isn't Citron; Citron then appears through the fog, and the two fight. Meanwhile, Fume Shroom takes out Newspaper and Kernel-pult fights off the remaining EEEs. As Bubblebeard & Citron brawl, the other plants revive and surround him and DK, with Citron saying they are about to be "6 feet under."

Coney then runs back in, but isn't sure what to do, and gets Fume Shroom not to blast him by saying he wants to make a speech. Newspaper tells him to "use the sombrero" noting Zombies Ops members have more than one attack. Coney then dons a sombrero and uses a zapper to take out the remaining plants, allowing Bubblebeard to get the upper hand on Citron and "FINISH HIM" Mortal Kombat style with an exploding bubble. However, Peashooter is still standing, so DK summons Diddy with a flower (which Peashooter believes is Sunflower) and the two apes run off, so Peashooter orders all the plants to follow them, leaving Fume Shroom left. As Bubblebeard taunts the defeated Citron, Newspaper congratulates Coney, and he suggests they go get the brain.

As for the chase with DK, it continues throughout the night, and the plants pursue them to a wooded area. Paco uses her "Exploding Tingle" move on the ape, who attacks her in turn and defeats her. Fume Shroom then chases after Diddy, and he eludes the plant with his climbing. Both then throw the flower, and, as Peashooter pursues it, he is met by Spellslamzer who offers his help (as Sunny assaults Diddy). Peashooter asks what kind of help he has, and Spellslamzer reveals a walrus (Lord Fredrick) to throw at DK. Fredrick then fights both DK & Diddy, and takes them out, with Peashooter thanking him. After that, Peashooter tries to revive Sunflower, but finds it to be another flower instead, who mocks him for searching for someone who no longer exists. Peashooter demands to know who they are, and the flower introduces itself as Flowey, noting that Sunflowerstien is not there, and chastising the viewers for not having patience and that he has no words for it. Then there's static and a "this video has been removed" screen, and Peashooter, through the static, complains to not let it end like that. Spellslamzer reappears and commands Flowey to talk to him, so the flower reveals Sunflower is hidden in a vase, and Spellslamzer tells him he must play "Vasebreaker." Flowey adds that she's back in the greenhouse and is no longer a doctor, and Peashooter asks them to bring him to her; Spellslamzer asks what will happen with the plants when he's gone, so he appoints Fume Shroom in charge in his absence. Spellslamzer then takes him away, saying they have many levels to explore, Back with Fume Shroom & Paco, the former complains about Peashooter being gone and them losing, then wonders how it could get worse. The zombies are then shown eating a brain, with the caption "the zombies ate your brains, but we'll let it slide this time," causing both plants to faint. Bubblebeard then comments on the taste of brains, while Coney says they deserve it after 32 episodes. An explosion is heard, and Newspaper questions what it is, while Bubblebeard can only reply "thar she blows!"
